Nestlé Nigeria, in partnership with the Swiss State Secretariat of Migration (SEM), has successfully empowered over 20 young Nigerians through its annual Technical Training Program at the Agbara factory. As part of the global Nestlé Needs YOUth initiative, the program equips participants with skills in Mechanical, Electrical, and Automation Engineering, fostering youth employability and addressing the demand for skilled labor in Nigeria.

The program, running since 2011, blends theoretical and practical training, offering certifications from the City & Guilds of London. This year’s top graduates completed internships at Nestlé’s technical sites in Switzerland, gaining cultural exposure and industry expertise. With close to 230 graduates to date and a 98% employment rate at Nestlé Nigeria, the initiative demonstrates the power of collaboration between Switzerland and Nigeria in driving economic growth and skill development.

Nestlé’s ongoing investment in youth empowerment aligns with its global goal of providing economic opportunities to 10 million young people by 2030, with over 5 million targeted in Africa, Asia, and Oceania.
