Panic and pain gripped residents of Idumagbo in the early hours of December 11, 2025, as a quiet household turned into a scene of violence following a brazen armed invasion linked to a lingering land dispute.

At about 5:20 a.m., distress calls alerted security operatives to a violent attack at No. 40, Omonije Street. Responding swiftly, a Special Response Unit stormed the area, forcing two armed assailants to flee on a motorcycle at the sight of approaching police vehicles.

But the damage had already been done.

Inside the compound, a mother, Gloria Caroline Fasan, and her three young children were left battered and traumatised after the attackers allegedly stormed the residence in search of her husband, Olaniran Fasan, who was not at home at the time.

Recounting the ordeal, our correspondent revealed how Gloria told officers that the armed men descended on the family without mercy. Her children — Temiloluwa (14), Inioluwa (12), and Olamide (10) — were reportedly beaten alongside her in the frightening assault.

In a particularly distressing moment, one of the children sustained a fractured arm after being struck with a piece of wood. Bruises and injuries were visible across their bodies, eyewitnesses confirmed.

The victims were rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care before later giving statements to the police.

Investigations have since pointed to a festering land dispute as the motive behind the attack. Sources revealed that the property, believed to belong to Mr. Fasan, has been the subject of repeated threats and intimidation by suspected miscreants prior to the incident.

Residents say the attack has heightened fears in the community, raising concerns over the increasing use of violence in land-related conflicts.

Police authorities confirmed that the case involves assault, threat to life, and conspiracy to commit a felony. They assured that efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing suspects and bring all those involved to justice.

As the investigation continues, the harrowing experience has left a family shaken: a painful reminder of how unresolved disputes can spiral into dangerous acts, placing innocent lives, including children, directly in harm’s way
