Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, has signed the 2026 Appropriation Bill of ₦901 billion into law.

The governor assented to the budget after it was duly passed by the Jigawa State House of Assembly. The ₦901 billion budget covers both the state government and the 27 local government areas.

Governor Namadi described the appropriation as a people-oriented budget, aimed at addressing the needs and priorities of residents of the state. He commended members of the State House of Assembly for their dedication and cooperation, which he said ensured the timely passage of the budget.

The governor also expressed appreciation to civil servants for providing vital data and inputs to the budget committee, noting that the information was gathered from the people based on their identified needs.

He further thanked civil servants involved in compiling and coordinating citizens’ demands, assuring them of the government’s continued support and commitment to improving their welfare.

Governor Namadi also commended the Senior Special Assistants on Education and Health for their dedication to duty, assuring that the 2026 budget would be fully implemented to achieve its intended goals.
