The GATEWAY Program, a major five-year initiative aimed at connecting 340,000 young Nigerians to sustainable global gig work, has officially commenced. The program is implemented by Co-creation HUB Ltd (CcHUB) and represents a significant effort to harness Nigeria’s youth population amid the rapid expansion of the global gig economy, projected to reach approximately $1.85 trillion by 2032.

Program Objectives

Strategically designed to address Nigeria’s skills-to-employment gap, the GATEWAY Program equips participants with competencies required to thrive in today’s flexible digital economy. Its core mission is to transition 340,000 young people from unemployment into sustainable income generation.

Inclusivity Focus

Inclusivity is central to the program’s design, with a deliberate focus on empowering underserved groups. The program aims to:

Reduce gender imbalance in the digital workforce

Promote participation of young women

Include Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)

Support displaced youth, including young men

Program Structure

The program is designed for maximum reach and accommodates different skill levels through two pathways:

Growth Pathway: For individuals with existing digital/creative skills seeking to strengthen portfolios and access gig opportunities

Foundations Pathway: For beginners who need to acquire core digital and creative skills
