The Imo State Government has issued a public notice declaring a man identified as Umunna Chigozie Innocent wanted over alleged links to the Indigenous People of Biafra.
In the notice released to the public, authorities said the suspect is a native of Mgbidi in Oru West Local Government Area of Imo State. He is alleged to be a member of IPOB, a group known for its agitation for secession from Nigeria.
The government accused the group of contributing to unrest and instability in parts of the country through its activities aimed at breaking away from the Nigerian state.
Residents and members of the public have been urged to provide any useful information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect. The notice also called on all police stations and security agencies to remain alert and assist in tracking him down.
The Imo State Government emphasized the importance of public cooperation in maintaining security and ensuring that individuals linked to activities threatening national unity are brought to justice.
