Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of BOCA Energy Resources Ltd, Mr. James Ukachukwu, has confirmed his participation as Chairman of the 2026 Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Lagos State Council Correspondents’ Chapel Press Week, scheduled for June 27, 2026.

The confirmation followed a formal invitation extended to the renowned business leader by the Chapel’s Press Week Planning Committee.
In a letter conveying his acceptance, Mr. Ukachukwu affirmed his commitment to attend the event in person, underscoring his support for media development, ethical journalism, and stronger collaboration between the media and the corporate sector.
Confirming the development, the Head of Media and Publicity at BOCA Energy Resources Ltd, Mr. Alfred Abiodun, disclosed that the company’s chairman had officially responded to the invitation and expressed enthusiasm about engaging with journalists from across Lagos State.

“The Chairman has officially responded to the letter from the event organisers, affirming his intention to attend in person. He looks forward to engaging with the foremost correspondents in Lagos and supporting the Chapel’s dedication to journalistic excellence and professional development,” Abiodun stated.

The NUJ Lagos Correspondents’ Chapel Press Week is one of the union’s flagship annual events, bringing together political, business, economic, investigative, and general assignment correspondents from leading media organisations operating in Lagos.

The week-long programme is expected to feature lectures, panel discussions, awards presentations, and networking sessions designed to promote professionalism, ethical reporting, and capacity building within the journalism profession.
Observers say Mr. Ukachukwu’s acceptance reflects his appreciation of the media’s critical role in promoting transparency, accountability, and national development.
With decades of experience in the oil and gas industry, corporate leadership, and community development initiatives, his participation is expected to contribute valuable insights to discussions on energy, economic growth, and the media’s watchdog responsibility in society.
