Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) presidential aspirant, Oyinkan Badejo-Okunsanya (SAN), has denied claims that she described herself as the association’s first female president, insisting she has always recognised Dame Priscilla Kuye’s historic role.

Responding through a supporter, Badejo-Okunsanya said the allegation was false and inconsistent with her public record, noting that she honoured Kuye during the 2026 International Women’s Day celebration in recognition of her achievement as the NBA’s first female president.
The supporter said it would be illogical for Badejo-Okunsanya to make such a claim after publicly celebrating Kuye’s legacy, adding that the controversy misrepresented her position.
Reaffirming her stance, Badejo-Okunsanya said, “I have never disrespected Dame Priscilla Kuye or sought to diminish her legacy.”
