Sulaiman, who joined the Board as a Non-Executive Director in August 2009 and became Chairman in July 2020, was commended for his leadership and contributions to the company’s growth.

Before retiring from Accenture in 2010, Sulaiman served as Country Managing Director and Chairman of Accenture Nigeria. He has also chaired and served on the boards of several companies and non-profit organisations, including ABSA Nigeria, SecureID Limited and Interswitch Limited. He was Chairman of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria between 2017 and 2021.

Salami, who joined Cadbury Nigeria’s Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director in March 2026, brings more than three decades of experience spanning economics, public policy, academia, consulting and corporate governance.

He is the Chief Executive Officer of KAINOS Edge Consulting Ltd and previously served as Chief Economic Adviser to former President Muhammadu Buhari. He also chaired the Presidential Economic Advisory Council and has worked with international institutions including the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, International Finance Corporation (IFC), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Kingdom’s former Department for International Development (DFID).

In the private sector, Salami has chaired the boards of Prestige Assurance Plc and ARM Investment Managers Ltd, while remaining an adjunct faculty member at the Lagos Business School, Pan-Atlantic University.

The company also welcomed Mrs. Uwa Osa-Oboh to its Board as an Independent Non-Executive Director.

Osa-Oboh is currently Head of Corporate Development at Capital Alliance Nigeria, a member of the African Capital Alliance Group. Before joining the investment firm in 2013, she led management consulting firm ReStraL Limited as Chief Executive Officer.

A lawyer by training, she has also worked in corporate finance and has extensive experience in strategy, organisational transformation and business development.

Commenting on the appointments, Cadbury Nigeria’s Managing Director, Ayman Fahmy Gaafar, praised Sulaiman’s stewardship of the company.

“Mr. Sulaiman demonstrated exemplary leadership during his tenure on the Board and helped the business navigate turbulent times. He has added significant value to our Board and organisation over the last 17 years, and we wish him well in his future endeavours,” he said.

Gaafar said the company was confident Salami’s extensive experience in economics, public policy and corporate governance would strengthen the Board’s leadership.

“We are excited to have Prof. Salami, who is a respected economist, accomplished academic and former presidential adviser, as our new Chairman. We also welcome Mrs. Osa-Oboh, a multidimensional business leader, to our Board.”

The appointments take immediate effect as Cadbury Nigeria continues to strengthen its corporate governance and leadership structure
