The Jigawa State House of Assembly Committee on Local Government has commended the Kazaure Local Government Council for its commitment to implementing development projects aimed at improving the welfare of residents across the area.

The committee chairman, Hon. Sani Sale Zaburan, who represents Kaugama Constituency, gave the commendation during an oversight visit to Kazaure Local Government Area.

He said the visit was designed to assess the council’s performance in key areas, including financial management, record keeping, revenue generation and the execution of capital projects in accordance with Jigawa State due process guidelines.

Hon. Zaburan expressed satisfaction with the administration of Kazaure Local Government, particularly its effective financial record keeping, the cordial relationship between the executive and legislative arms, and its efforts to execute development projects across various communities.

He urged the council’s staff to maintain punctuality, commitment and dedication to their duties, stressing that a hardworking workforce was essential to accelerating the development of Kazaure and contributing to the overall progress of Jigawa State.

During the visit, the committee inspected several completed and ongoing capital projects executed by the council in Daurawa Fulani, Farun Daba, Kanawa, Kwankwarami, Gurunfa and Unguwar Gabas wards.

Speaking earlier, the Chairman of Kazaure Local Government Council, Hon. Mansur Usman Dabuwa, assured the committee that his administration would continue to implement meaningful projects designed to improve the living conditions of residents.

He said the council had renovated healthcare facilities, provided free drugs, installed hand pumps and motorised boreholes to improve access to clean water, strengthened educational development and supported small-scale entrepreneurs as part of efforts to promote economic growth and improve livelihoods.

Hon. Dabuwa also commended Jigawa State Governor, Malam Umar Namadi, for his grassroots-oriented development initiatives under the administration’s 12-point Transformation Agenda.

The oversight visit was attended by members of the committee, including Hon. Hamza Baba, representing Malam Madori Constituency; Hon. Yakubu Gwaram, representing Gwaram Constituency; Alhaji Adamu Ibrahim, the committee secretary; and representatives of the state due process office.
