The Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) has intensified efforts to strengthen trade and investment relations between Nigeria and Russia as part of measures to support President Bola Tinubu’s vision of building a $1 trillion economy.

This was the focus of a high-level meeting between NACCIMA and a delegation from the Moscow Export Centre held at the NACCIMA office in Ikeja, Lagos, on Friday, September 4, 2026.

Speaking at the meeting, Vitaly Stepanov Chief Executive Officer of the Moscow Export Centre and leader of the Russian delegation, said the engagement was aimed at strengthening business relations between Nigerian and Russian companies,

He invited NACCIMA and Nigerian business leaders to participate in the Russia-Africa business meeting scheduled to take place in Russia next month.

Stepanov said the proposed engagement would provide a platform to strengthen business relations between Nigeria and Russia and identify areas where Russian companies and institutions could contribute to the development of Nigeria’s private sector.

He assured the Nigerian delegation that Russia was willing to support Nigeria in various capacities while encouraging greater collaboration between businesses in both countries.

Also speaking, NACCIMA National President, Engr. Jani Ibrahim, FNSE, FAEng, Mni, OON, described the visit as a significant development in efforts to promote Nigeria’s economic growth.

Ibrahim said stronger international business partnerships could contribute to President Bola Tinubu’s vision of building a $1 trillion economy.

He added that NACCIMA would sustain the engagement and indicated plans to lead a team of NACCIMA representatives to Russia to further explore areas of cooperation.

The meeting highlighted the growing prospects for stronger Nigeria-Russia trade and investment relations.
