Nigerian-born designer Esther Fiyinfoluwa Adeosun is steadily building a name across continents, merging African textile heritage with the precision of British fashion craftsmanship.
As the Founder and Creative Director of Fifi Stitches, Adeosun has become known for her structured womenswear and bridal couture. Her designs stand out for their architectural tailoring and refined construction, transforming traditional African fabrics into contemporary luxury pieces.
Her journey began in Ibadan, where childhood curiosity led her to experiment with her mother’s sewing machine. What started as playful exploration—sometimes even dismantling the machine to understand how it worked—gradually evolved into a disciplined and purposeful design career.
“I was fascinated by how flat fabric could transform into something structured and meaningful,” she once shared.
Early creations, though imperfect, were proudly worn by family members. That encouragement became the foundation of her confidence and creative identity.
Today, Fifi Stitches is distinguished by sculpted bodices, intricate corsetry, and precise tailoring. The brand reimagines fabrics such as Ankara, Aso Oke, and Adire, challenging the notion that they are only suited for traditional or ceremonial wear. Instead, Adeosun positions them within the global luxury fashion space.
Her educational background reflects this blend of creativity and technical discipline. She studied Fashion Design and Entrepreneurship at Obafemi Awolowo University and earned additional certification through Alison Online. In the United Kingdom, she further refined her skills with industry-focused training and gained exposure to the business side of fashion.
Adeosun emphasizes that technical expertise is essential to success. From pattern drafting and draping to garment technology and bespoke fittings, she believes mastery of construction is what builds credibility. “Precision builds trust,” she says. “A designer must understand construction as deeply as creativity.”
Her work has been showcased at major fashion events in the UK, including runway shows in Suffolk and Liverpool, as well as red carpet exhibitions in London. Editorial features and media coverage have further expanded the brand’s visibility across international markets.
Beyond design, Adeosun is committed to community impact. She organizes workshops and training sessions for women and aspiring creatives, using fashion as a tool for empowerment and economic opportunity.
Operating between Nigeria and the UK, she draws inspiration from both environments. Nigeria offers rich cultural expression and vibrant textile traditions, while the UK provides structure, sustainability practices, and industry frameworks that shape her production approach.
Looking ahead, Adeosun plans to build a fully structured fashion house that bridges Africa and the UK. Her vision includes scalable production, capsule collections, and stronger editorial presence on the global stage.
At the core of her ambition is a clear mission: to place African textile craftsmanship at the forefront of contemporary global fashion—defined by structure, discipline, and technical excellence.
