President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made official visits to 24 countries across five global regions since he was sworn into office, underscoring Nigeria’s renewed push for diplomatic engagement, economic partnerships, and strategic cooperation on the global stage.
According to information from The State House, the visits—recorded as at January 2026—span Europe, Africa, the Middle East/West Asia, the Americas/Caribbean, and Asia, reflecting the administration’s broad foreign policy outreach.
In Europe, President Tinubu has visited Türkiye, France, Germany, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and the Vatican, engaging leaders on issues ranging from trade and investment to security and bilateral cooperation.
Across Africa, the President has undertaken official trips to Benin Republic, Chad, Ghana, Senegal, Guinea, Equatorial Guinea, Kenya, Ethiopia, South Africa, and Tanzania, reinforcing Nigeria’s leadership role on the continent and strengthening regional and multilateral ties.
In the Middle East and West Asia, Tinubu has visited Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, countries regarded as key partners in investment, energy cooperation, and economic diplomacy.
His engagements in the Americas and the Caribbean include visits to Brazil, Saint Lucia, and the United States of America, while in Asia, the President has made official trips to India and China, two of the world’s largest economies and strategic partners for Nigeria.
The wide-ranging visits highlight the Tinubu administration’s focus on repositioning Nigeria globally, attracting foreign direct investment, expanding trade opportunities, and strengthening diplomatic relations amid ongoing economic reforms at home.
Observers note that the breadth of destinations reflects an active foreign policy agenda aimed at boosting Nigeria’s international standing and leveraging global partnerships to support national development goals
