The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has launched a major youth empowerment initiative, impacting more than 1,400 beneficiaries through the distribution of equipment and cash grants under the Renewed Hope Scale-Up Programme.

The event, held in Jos, saw hundreds of young Nigerians receive tools aimed at boosting small businesses and promoting self-reliance. A total of 727 equipment sets were distributed, including tricycles, sewing machines, welding kits, POS machines with startup funds, and phone repair toolkits powered by solar systems.

In addition to the tools, ₦280 million was disbursed in grants to participants. The funding was structured across four categories, with beneficiaries receiving between ₦100,000 and ₦1 million to support business startups and expansion.

Speaking at the অনুষ্ঠ, Yilwatda described the programme as a practical step toward addressing unemployment and fostering economic inclusion. He said the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda, which prioritizes job creation and grassroots development.

He also acknowledged the support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that the administration is focused on building a $1 trillion economy through infrastructure investments, including rail expansion, new seaports, and major highway projects.

Yilwatda urged beneficiaries to make productive use of the resources, emphasizing that small businesses can grow into major enterprises with dedication and discipline. He added that participants would benefit from continued support, including access to financing through the Bank of Industry and export training in partnership with the Nigerian Export Promotion Council.

Representing the Plateau State Governor, Deputy Governor Josephine Piyo commended the initiative, describing it as a reflection of impactful leadership. She encouraged beneficiaries to remain focused and entrepreneurial, expressing confidence that the programme would nurture future business leaders.

The Renewed Hope Scale-Up Programme is part of broader efforts by the APC to strengthen economic resilience and empower young Nigerians at the grassroots level
