The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has congratulated Muslim faithful across Nigeria on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, describing the festival as a sacred period of faith, sacrifice, obedience and devotion to Almighty Allah.
Professor Yilwatda also called on Nigerians, particularly the Muslim Ummah, to continue supporting the reform programmes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, saying the policies are aimed at repositioning the country for sustainable growth and long-term prosperity.
In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Information Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, the APC National Chairman said Eid-el-Kabir remains one of the most significant festivals in Islam, symbolising selflessness, compassion, tolerance, unity and complete submission to the will of God, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim.
He noted that the lessons of sacrifice, patience, perseverance and collective responsibility associated with the celebration are especially important at this critical stage of Nigeria’s development.
According to him, Nigerians must embrace unity and peaceful coexistence across ethnic, religious and political divides in order to build a stronger and more prosperous nation.
Professor Yilwatda urged citizens to use the Sallah celebration to deepen the bonds of love, understanding and brotherhood among one another while praying for peace, unity, security and progress in the country.
The APC chairman further appealed to Nigerians to remain steadfast in supporting the administration of President Tinubu, noting that although the ongoing reforms may demand patience and shared sacrifice, they are necessary for restoring economic stability, strengthening institutions, improving infrastructure, creating jobs and securing a brighter future for coming generations.
He expressed confidence that under President Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria would emerge stronger, more resilient and economically competitive among nations of the world.
Professor Yilwatda also prayed that Almighty Allah accepts the sacrifices, supplications and acts of worship of all Muslim faithful and blesses every family with peace, joy, good health and abundant blessings during and after the Eid celebration.
He wished Muslims in Nigeria and across the world a peaceful, prosperous and memorable Eid-el-Kabir celebration
