The Chairman of Ringim Local Government Council, Alhaji Badamasi Garba Dani, has disclosed that the council is currently sponsoring over 200 students in various colleges and universities across Nigeria as part of its commitment to educational development.
He made the disclosure while speaking to journalists shortly after commissioning the newly established Ringim White Restaurant, owned by Ringim indigene, Malam Abdullahi Ahmed. The restaurant is located at the former Police Headquarters area in Dutse, the Jigawa State capital.
Alhaji Badamasi noted that Jigawa State continues to enjoy peace and stability, making it one of the most peaceful states in Nigeria. According to him, the peaceful atmosphere has attracted people from different parts of the country to settle and conduct business in the state.
The council chairman commended Malam Abdullahi Ahmed for his initiative and foresight in establishing the restaurant, which specializes in traditional local delicacies such as Dumame, Kwadan Rama, Kwadan Zogale, Dan Wake, Burabisko, Ruwan Tsari, and Farfesun Kan Rago.
He advised the entrepreneur to remain patient and courteous in dealing with customers from diverse cultural backgrounds, stressing that patience and tolerance are essential qualities for success in business.
“Success comes through perseverance and patience. The more tolerant you are with customers, the more patronage your business will attract,” he said.
As a gesture of support and encouragement, Alhaji Badamasi donated N500,000 to the restaurant owner to help expand the business. He said the contribution was aimed at encouraging private investments that create jobs and contribute to reducing unemployment in the state.
Speaking at the event, the representative of the Dutse Emirate, represented by the Barwan Dutse, praised the establishment of the restaurant, describing it as a valuable addition to the state’s hospitality sector. He noted that the venture would create employment opportunities, particularly for women.
He further described the restaurant as one of the few establishments in the state dedicated to serving indigenous dishes, including Dumamen Tuwo and other traditional meals.
In his remarks, the owner of Ringim White Restaurant, Malam Abdullahi Ahmed, said the business was established to meet the growing demand for authentic local cuisine in Jigawa State.
He explained that he identified a gap in the hospitality industry and decided to provide a restaurant that offers traditional meals such as Tuwan Dawa, Tuwan Alkama, Tuwan Tsari, Farfesun Kashi Rago, Kwadan Zogale, Kwadan Rama, and Dan Wake.
Also speaking at the occasion, the Chairman of the Football Association in the area, Alhaji Sabo Abdullahi, described the restaurant owner, who serves as his secretary, as a man of integrity and vision.
He assured the proprietor of the association’s support in promoting the business and revealed that sports officials and players would patronize the restaurant as one of their preferred eating locations.
The commissioning ceremony attracted community leaders, government officials, business stakeholders, and well-wishers who gathered to celebrate the opening of the new establishment.
