Zedvance Finance Limited has appointed Professor Pius ‘Deji Olanrewaju as Chairman of its Board of Directors, effective July 1, subject to the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

The appointment marks a significant step in the company’s drive to strengthen corporate governance and position itself for its next phase of growth. According to Zedvance, the enhanced Board structure will bolster strategic oversight, support innovation, and enable the company to deliver greater value to customers, shareholders, and other stakeholders.

The company described Prof. Olanrewaju as a highly respected corporate leader whose extensive experience in governance, strategy, banking, and organisational transformation will further reinforce its leadership framework.

Commenting on his appointment, Prof. Olanrewaju said he was honoured to lead the Board at a time when the company is expanding its impact in Nigeria’s financial services sector.

Prof. Olanrewaju is a distinguished legal scholar, banking professional, and corporate governance expert with more than 40 years of experience spanning banking, finance, academia, and institutional leadership. He holds degrees in law and related disciplines, including an LLB (Hons), BL, BA, M.Sc, LL.M, and PhD, and is a Fellow of several professional bodies, including the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (FCIB).

He recently completed his tenure as President and Chairman of Council of the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), where he served the Institute for more than 35 years in several leadership positions. He is also a Professor of Banking Law at Babcock University and the immediate past Provost and Dean of the University’s School of Law and Security Studies.

Beyond academia, Prof. Olanrewaju serves on several corporate boards, including Babcock University Microfinance Bank, bringing deep expertise in corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and financial services oversight.

His appointment is expected to further strengthen Zedvance’s strategic direction as the company continues to expand its business and retail financing offerings.
