We, the concerned members of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church Worldwide, acting in accordance with the Church Constitution and sacred tradition, wish to address the recent announcement regarding the appointment of a new Acting Baba Aladura.
- Position of the Church Constitution
According to the Constitution of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, the office of Baba Aladura is filled through hierarchical succession.
Following the transition to glory of the late Baba Aladura, His Grace, Emmanuel Alogbo, the mantle of leadership, according to the constitutional order of succession, devolves upon the next in line of authority, Most Senior Special Apostle Prophet Timothy Iranloye Adewoye.
This provision was established to preserve order, unity, continuity, and stability within the Movement founded by our fathers.
- Rejection of the Contrary Announcement
We note with concern the announcement naming Most Senior Special Apostle Gabriel Kassim as Acting Baba Aladura.
We maintain that the announcement did not follow the procedure laid down in the Church Constitution and was not made in accordance with the prescribed succession process.
Therefore, we state that the said announcement is null, void, and of no effect within the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church.
- Affirmation of Authentic Leadership
In line with due process and following consultations with Districts, Branches, and Model Branches worldwide, we hereby affirm and present Most Senior Special Apostle Prophet Timothy Iranloye Adewoye as the authentic and constitutionally recognised Acting Baba Aladura of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church, effective 20 August 2026.
We call on all Districts, Branches, Model Branches, and members worldwide to give him their full support, prayers, and allegiance as we move forward in unity.
- Call for Peace and Order
We urge all members of the fold to remain calm, prayerful, peaceful, and law-abiding.
The Church is bigger than any individual or Board of Trustees. Any action capable of causing division, confusion, or disunity is contrary to the spirit and values of the Cherubim and Seraphim Movement.
We also appeal to the public, the media, and relevant government agencies to recognise only official communications issued henceforth by the office of the authentic Acting Baba Aladura.
