Residents of FAKALE COMMUNITY are praising the quiet bravery of Mrs. AFOLAYAN ODUN, a local woman who provided refuge to Elizabeth Benjamin-Adeoye and her children, as survivors fleeing a house fire that shocked the region earlier this week.

According to Mrs. Odun, Elizabeth arrived at her home shortly after fire erupted exhausted, crying, and covered in soot. “She looked like she and her chidren had run a long distance,” the woman recounted. “I knew instantly that she needed help.”

Mrs. Afolayan Odun offered emergency comfort, clean water, and first-aid before calling for assistance from other community members. Witnesses say Elizabeth appeared to have suffered minor burns and was visibly traumatized by the ordeal.

Authorities later transported Elizabeth to a local herbalist for treatment, while neighbors commended the woman who opened her door during a moment of crisis.

“I only did what anyone should do,” the woman said quietly. “She needed safety, so I offered it.”
