Nestlé Nigeria has demonstrated its commitment to youth empowerment and skill development by investing over N6 billion in its Technical Training Centre (TTC) in Agbara, graduating 30 young professionals in the process. The company’s dedication to fostering the next generation of skilled professionals has resulted in 97% of program graduates being employed within Nestlé Nigeria.

The TTC program, which began in 2011, provides an intensive 18-month training that blends theoretical and practical engineering education, culminating in the City and Guilds of London Technicians’ Certification. This rigorous training significantly enhances the employability of the participants.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Mr. Wassim Elhusseini, Managing Director/CEO of Nestlé Nigeria, emphasized the company’s belief in the potential of the next generation and its commitment to enabling them to thrive. He highlighted the program’s success and impact, with 97% of graduates being employed within Nestlé Nigeria.

Beyond the TTC, Nestlé’s dedication to youth empowerment is also reflected in its broader youth engagement platform, Nestlé Needs YOUth, which aims to help young people access economic opportunities. Through various programs under this banner, Nestlé reaches an average of 25,000 youths annually.

The graduation ceremony was attended by dignitaries, including the State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Professor Abayomi Adelaja Arigbabu, who commended the Nestlé Technical Training Centre for its commitment to empowering young minds. Also present were representatives from the Nigeria Employers Consultative Association (NECA) and the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN), whose support has been instrumental in the success of the Technical Training Program.
