By Isma’ila Ibrahim Dutse,
The Jigawa State Government has commenced the bidding process for the procurement of 10 brand-new Toyota Hilux vehicles and the construction of a modern cell/armory, office complex, and perimeter fencing for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Command Headquarters in Dutse.
Speaking during the bid opening exercise, the Permanent Secretary of the Directorate of Special Services/Council Affairs, Alhaji Abba Mustapha Yola, disclosed that six companies had submitted bids for the contracts. He stressed the need for strict compliance with procurement regulations to ensure transparency, accountability, and value for money in the execution of public projects.
Yola clarified that the opening of bids does not amount to the award of contracts, noting that all submissions would undergo thorough evaluation in line with established procurement procedures before any decision is made.
He urged members of the technical evaluation committee to conduct the process with fairness, transparency, and impartiality, while also calling on the eventual contractors to deliver the projects within the stipulated timeframe.
Also speaking, Engineer Kabiru Usman K, representing the Directorate of Due Process and Projects Monitoring Bureau, emphasized the importance of quality workmanship and timely project delivery. He further advised contractors to ensure that their company profiles are up to date with the Due Process and Projects Monitoring Bureau, the Ministry of Commerce, and other relevant government agencies.
On behalf of the participating firms, Auwal Ahmed, representative of ANNUR-MUS Synagy Services, appreciated the government for providing a transparent platform for competition and pledged the bidders’ commitment to meeting all required standards.
According to him, the procurement initiative will significantly enhance the mobility and operational efficiency of security agencies across the state.
The projects form part of the state government’s efforts to strengthen security infrastructure and improve the operational capacity of law enforcement and civil defence institutions in Jigawa State.
