Mrs. Maria Iseme Oisamoje, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for Edo North Senatorial District in the 2027 election, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the recently concluded governorship election.
Adeleke, who contested under the Accord Party, was declared winner of the August 15, 2026 poll after securing 511,067 votes, defeating his closest challenger, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, who polled 444,815 votes.
In her congratulatory message, Iseme described Adeleke’s return to office as a reflection of the confidence reposed in his leadership by the people of Osun State.
She said the outcome of the election demonstrated that Nigerian voters were increasingly interested in leadership that prioritises the welfare and development of the people.
Iseme, who hails from Ogute in Owan East Local Government Area, was recently identified as the NDC’s candidate for the Edo North senatorial race, following the party’s decision to zone its ticket to the Owan axis.
According to her, Adeleke’s victory should serve as encouragement to politicians seeking elective positions on the platform of service, accountability and people-oriented leadership.
She also expressed confidence in her own political ambition, saying she believes the people of Edo North are ready for a new chapter of effective representation and purposeful leadership.
Iseme pledged that, if elected to represent Edo North in the Senate, she would make the welfare and aspirations of her constituents a priority.
She promised to pursue initiatives capable of improving the lives of the people, particularly through greater attention to youth empowerment, women’s opportunities, agriculture, infrastructure and the attraction of meaningful federal projects to the district.
The Edo North candidate urged voters to remain committed to the democratic process, expressing optimism that her candidacy would provide the people with an opportunity to choose a representative who would make their interests central to legislative duties.
Her campaign has previously emphasised effective representation and purposeful leadership for Edo North if elected in 2027.
For Iseme, Adeleke’s victory is not only an Osun story but also a reminder that voters can use their ballots to reward leadership they believe serves their interests
