The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Nentawe Yilwatda, has reaffirmed the party’s position as Nigeria’s most structured and dependable political platform, declaring it uniquely equipped to deliver stability, progress, and long-term national development.
Speaking in Abuja, Yilwatda said the APC has built a strong institutional foundation over the years, marked by national spread, internal discipline, and governance experience. He noted that at a critical time in Nigeria’s democratic journey, the country requires a steady and organized political force rather than what he described as “unstable and unprepared alternatives.”
According to him, the APC is not just preparing for future elections but is actively working to strengthen governance systems, deepen democratic values, and restore public confidence in leadership. He emphasized that the party understands the weight of its responsibility as the ruling platform and remains committed to supporting reforms that will ensure long-term economic growth, security, and national cohesion.
Yilwatda criticized opposition parties for their ongoing internal crises, describing them as fragmented and lacking the cohesion needed to manage a complex federation like Nigeria. He argued that persistent factional disputes, legal battles, and leadership struggles within these parties raise serious concerns about their readiness to govern.
On electoral integrity, the APC chairman stressed that the party believes in winning through popular support and credible democratic processes rather than relying on technical disqualifications or legal loopholes. He maintained that true legitimacy comes from the people and that electoral victories are more meaningful when earned through performance and persuasion.
Addressing national security, Yilwatda highlighted the ongoing prosecution of over 500 terrorism suspects as a major step forward in strengthening the rule of law under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. He explained that the administration is adopting a comprehensive strategy that goes beyond arrests to include judicial accountability, intelligence coordination, and institutional reforms aimed at ensuring lasting peace.
Turning to party strategy, he described Osun State as a crucial political battleground and a key test of the APC’s organizational strength ahead of future elections. He called for a disciplined, data-driven, and well-coordinated campaign structure, warning against internal conflicts, overlapping responsibilities, and lack of clear leadership within party operations.
Yilwatda urged party members, stakeholders, and grassroots mobilizers to close ranks, remain focused, and prioritize collective victory over individual ambitions. He stressed that unity, strategic planning, and effective communication would be critical to the party’s success in upcoming contests.
Reaffirming the APC’s broader vision, the chairman stated that the party remains committed to building a stronger nation through policies that promote security, economic recovery, institutional stability, and inclusive growth. He concluded that while challenges remain, the APC is prepared, tested, and determined to lead Nigeria toward sustained progress and national renewal
